Friday Hiking Review...Solstice Canyon, Malibu

Solstice Canyon- Malibu, CA
4 Stars
3 miles Roundtrip
Difficulty: ModerateTrail
Condition: Easy to follow/Signs posted fairly oftenRating: 5

I enjoyed this trail very much. The scenery was beautiful, overlooking the ocean and the 30 ft. waterfall was really pretty. I went during the week and I did not see another person the whole time I was hiking. The waterfall includes a small plunge pool you can wade in and is a good place for a picnic, very secluded. Supposdyl if you scramble up the rocks next to the waterfall there are really pretty pools up there, but I was a chicken and didn't make it up there. The only strange thing was it was right next to a burned down house which was a little odd. I took the Rising Sun Trail and found it to be quite easy.

How to Get There: Head north on Pacific Coast Highway from Malibu Canyon road to Corral Canyon Road and turn right. About a quarter mile up, you will see the gated entrance to Solstice Canyon.
