Hiking Review...Mt. Lowe Railway Loop...

Highlights: Amazing Views, Historic Railway and ruins of the hotel
Distance: 3.5 miles round trip
Difficulty: Quite a bit of uphill
Trail Condition: Well maintained trail
Hike Type: Loop

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary: This was a trail I felt safe hiking on by myself. Even though it was a weekday, I saw several other hikers enjoying the trail as well. The trail is pretty straightforward and the view was always changing. Once I got to the top of the mountain where the old railroad was, I felt as if I were on top of the world! I could see as far away as Century City, amazing to think about since I was in Altadena! The historical points were interesting to read and it was fascinating to know there was so much history here.

Trailhead: From Loma Alta Drive in Altadena, drive to the end of Lake Ave. There will be a metal gate and the trail begins there.
